Lowell Observatory's "I Heart Pluto" Celebration will be all virtual this year

 


Lowell Observatory's "I Heart Pluto" celebration, commemorating the 91st anniversary of Pluto's discovery, can be attended virtually from anywhere in the world! iheartpluto.org .

The event runs from February 13-18, and featured speakers include New Horizons principal investigator Alan Stern; Charon discoverer Jim Christy; Alden Tombaugh, son of Pluto discoverer Clyde Tombaugh, astronomer Will Grundy, and Lowell Observatory historian Kevin Schindler. Stern's talk, on Saturday, February 13 from 6-7 MST, is titled "Why Pluto is a Planet, The Embarrassment of the IAU, and Why They Had it Coming."
